What is this?work in progress BANSOUND is a transparent, click-through, word-synced* lyrics overlay for Windows. The kind of karaoke-style, word-for-word highlighting you'd get out of a Joysound machine, but running on top of whatever's playing on your desktop. It works by fetching Windows now-playing info (Spotify, YouTube, etc.), fetches time-synced lyrics from a handful of configurable sources, and paints them onto your screen with a karaoke-style word wipe. No separate player or app switching, just lyrics floating over all of your windows.

*I tried my best, but there are many limitations that render automatic word-for-word perfect sync almost impossible. Therefore, the recommended mode is line sync if you want maximum accuracy. FeaturesWord-by-word wipeReal word-level timing when a source provides it, estimated splitting otherwise. With a "line only" fallback mode.
Auto song detectionReads straight from Windows Media Session API. No manual song entry or weird shenanigans to catch what's playing, works across most players automatically.
Configurable sourcesBuilt-in provider chain (Musixmatch/NetEase/Lrclib/Genius/…) plus your own config-driven scraper for any other site.
Romaji & furiganaToggleable readings for Japanese lyrics, synced word-by-word right alongside the original text.
Per-song sync memoryNudge the timing once and it's remembered automatically the next time that song plays.
Style editorFonts, colors, background box, and drag-to-reposition.
StatusStill private while it gets polished and debugged, but 90% done. Currently packaging a proper Windows installer, sorting out sync accuracy, and generally making sure it's not held together entirely by hope. Downloads will land here once it's ready. Built with
